Qjd Peking Duck （Markham）Restaurant

Excellent service—polite, proactive, and very refined. Staff checked before clearing dishes, helped divide shared plates, and brought bowls exactly when needed. The space is split into two L‑shaped sections with fewer tables, so it feels naturally quieter than a big open dining room. There are also private rooms for small or large groups. The Peking duck was beautifully sliced—much nicer than many other places—and came with 24 thin, chewy pancakes plus lots of accompaniments. My top three dishes were the eggplant, the tofu, and the red‑bean‑filled dessert. Location is also a big plus: right off the 404 and Steeles, so it’s easy for everyone to get to.

It was our first time coming for Peking duck. It was so good that I couldn't get a picture of it. The skin was perfectly cooked and crispy. It was not overly seasoned and their sauce was a perfect addition of the flavor. We ordered a few other dishes which were perfectly cooked with details, presentation and flavor.

We celebrated Chinese New Year at Quanjude and what a great choice. The Peking duck was exactly what we hope for. Skin crackling crisp, meat tender and juicy. The pancakes were whisper thin, which makes all the difference when wrapping duck, scallions, and sauce. The Sea Cucumber with Scallions was rich and deeply savoury. The Duck Web in Mustard Sauce had great texture and a bold kick. The Crispy Squirrel Fish was beautifully executed. Crisp exterior, tender inside, and that glossy sweet and slightly spicy sauce that hits all the right notes. Textures were on point. Even the kale salad surprised us. Fresh, clean, and a nice contrast to the richer dishes. Every plate was thoughtfully presented, and the service was attentive without hovering. If you’re looking for a proper festive meal, especially for something as meaningful as Lunar New Year, this is a solid choice. Highly recommended!

Impressive venue. We had a wonderful culinary experience trying the house special; Peking duck. They deboned the duck next to your table, generous servings of a melt in your mouth duck. We also ordered the jellyfish salad drizzled with a succulent dressing. The other dishes were delicious as well, but not exceptional. Excellent attentive service. Interesting to mention that I was the only westerner in the restaurant which to me is a good sign that the food is going to be worth it.

Had a good dinner here with my family. We got one of the set meals for 8 people and the food was very tasty. It is pricey at around $100+ per person, but it’s a nice place to celebrate any special occasions. If you go, no need to pay for parking as you can put your license plate on the list inside the restaurant.

Overall, this is a good spot with great service. QJD is obviously a massive, well-known brand in Beijing, but honestly, just like their other branches, the Peking Duck, which is supposed to be the star of the show, was just okay. It wasn't particularly memorable given the reputation. That said, the plating is exquisite, and the presentation is beautiful. While it is a relatively pricey place, the cost becomes quite reasonable if you go with a large party and order one of their package deals. Surprisingly, the highlight for us wasn't the duck, but the beef that came with our set. It was actually really good (quite tender and juicy). It is worth a visit for the experience.

If you're looking for authentic Peking duck in Toronto, QJD is worth a visit! The duck skin is slightly crispy, the meat is tender and flavorful, and when wrapped in thin wraps with scallions and sauce, each bite is incredibly satisfying. The accompaniments are plentiful.The atmosphere is perfect for family gatherings, and the service is attentive. Besides the Peking duck, other Beijing-style dishes are also good to try. The restaurant is spacious, ideal for enjoying a leisurely meal and conversation with family. It's a relaxing and enjoyable Beijing cuisine experience.

We had a wonderful dining experience here. The staff were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to accommodate our requests without us even having to ask. That level of proactiveness really made us feel valued as guests. The food was excellent as expected, and to our surprise, they even offered us a complimentary dessert at the end, which was a very thoughtful touch. It’s rare to find a place that combines great food with such genuine and considerate service. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!
